Since Long Island is so close to New York City, our cultural and art activities often get overlooked. But if you don’t want to fight the traffic into and out of the city, there are so many amazing holiday events right here on Long Island!
Arts Alive Long Island, speaks to the heart of the Long Island Arts Alliance (LIAA) mission to showcase Long Island’s world-class arts and culture. Here’s a sampling of some of the events going on through the end of the year:
December 17 – 27th — Gateway Playhouse presents Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella at the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts
Now through January 8 — Charles B Wang Center at Stony Brook University presents Origami Heaven showcasing contemporary origami by eight international artists.
Now through December 31 — The Vanderbilt Museum is decorated for the holidays. View it during Daytime and Twilight Tours.
December 31 — Tilles Center for the Performing Arts at LIU Post in Brookville hosts the Long Island Philharmonic New Year’s Eve Concert: My Fair Broadway
Now through January 3 — Long Island Children’s Museum in Garden City presents Once Upon a Time… Exploring the world of fairy tales.
Now through January 31 — Hofstra University Museum presents Enduring Images featuring artists of the 20th and 21st centuries.
